Silent Running then to now

You could say the roots of the band go back as far as 18 years,
when keyboard player Dave and bassist Gary met and decided to form a band. Scary!

Fast forward 14 years, and what seems like a hundred guitarists, drummers and vocalists,
and the band now known as Silent Running began to take shape.

John joined the band as guitarist in 2003, and brought with him the attitude
and ability that had been sought for so long.

In 2004 vocalist Graham left due to family commitments and the search for a replacement began.
Not much promising came along, but then John said that his nephew could sing a bit, so the others said OK,
bring him along and we’ll see what he can do.
Everyone was expecting a spotty teenager, but look what we ended up with!!!

Marc, like John, exhibited the positive character that would fit right in with the rest.

The final piece of the Silent Running puzzle was laid a year later when the band
was again in the market for a drummer. Purely by chance, someone suggested
a young drummer they knew to cover for an upcoming gig.
Along came Kenny with an outlook that complemented the rest of the band,
exhibiting drive, enthusiasm and, above all, the will to enjoy playing music.
This temporary arrangement soon became permanent and was the catalyst
for the band’s development into the Silent Running we know today.
